The Weight of Expectation
In the first fifteen years of her Christian journey, Dawn lived motivated by fear. She performed for approval, finding her self-worth in trying to please God, constantly hoping to feel worthy of His love.
Although secure in the love of Jesus, Dawn's image of Father God was that He was distant, indifferent, and difficult to please. This perception kept her estranged from true intimacy with Him. Anxiety grew as she depended more on her own abilities, faithfulness, and behavior than on receiving the free gift of the Father's love in the deep places of her heart.
Childhood hurts and disappointments had caused her to close her heart to her own needs. She valued being 'strong' above the humility required to receive love. Dawn's 'right living' and fierce independence ultimately left her hollow and empty of the very love she longed for.
A Holy Collision
She had lost the ability to be a child—dependent, vulnerable, and in need of her Father's love. But in 2003, everything changed. Dawn experienced a holy collision with the Father's affection that shattered her walls of performance.
When she finally surrendered to Abba's love, she found the freedom and true rest she had been searching for her entire life. The exhaustion of striving melted away, replaced by the profound peace of simply being held. She was no longer an orphan working for her place, but a beloved daughter resting safely at home.
JAMES'S NARRATIVE
Healing The Scars Of
Striving
James grew up with a distant father who ruled the home through fear, intimidation, and control. While his mother desperately attempted to maintain godly family values, the environment left him with deep emotional scars, insecurities, and an intensely independent spirit.
This pain birthed a relentless drive to perform. Hoping to ease his emotional wounds and find self-worth, James threw himself into years of striving in both his relationships and the business world. But living for his own comfort and security only left him spiritually empty, pushing him to the brink of complete emotional burnout.

It was through Jack and Trisha Frost of Shiloh Place Ministries that James and Dawn encountered a Heavenly Father's Love. This profound appointment began the deep work of healing the many wounded areas of their lives, shifting them from a posture of fear to one of absolute rest.
Together, they found true emotional safety, restored self-worth, and a lasting ‘home’ within a loving Heavenly Father's heart. The exhausting years of performance and striving finally ceased, replaced by the quiet, unbreakable assurance of being completely known and entirely loved.

This Love transforms our hearts from the inside out producing in us true maturity, as we become a manifestation of His love to the world.
